junking

I shop regularly at half a dozen thrift stores.  Some of them i have been going to since i was a child.  My latest find is a well used bernina 830 record for $4.50.  That’s right, not even 5 bucks.  The machine works well, but was very dirty.  I am saving up to have a professional maintenance check done on it.  90% of my fabric stash has been acquired via thrift stores either as bags of fabric under 5 dollars or xtra lg men’s shirts under 2 dollars each.  100% of my yarn stash, which consists of a gamut of yarn choices including, but not limited to silk, linen, alpaca, and cotton.  About 50% is from repurposed sweaters and the other 50% comes from bags of skeins under 5 dollars each. I have more yarn than i’ll ever use and will probably sell some of it. If i ever get it really organized.  i go junking at least once a week, but i very rarely go to yard/garage sales.
